POSITION SUMMARY:  

Under the general direction of the Laboratory Technician, the Harvest Lab Assistant will perform routine juice and wine analysis.  This position requires the ability to follow directions safely, and in a timely manner. During slow times in the lab, the candidate may also be required to help with general harvest cellar activities.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:  

Duties include but are not limited to the following:

• Process grape maturity samples
• Analyze samples in a timely manner and record results
• Maintain Winemaker’s database (BIMS)
• Monitor tank and barrel fermentations as directed
• Collect representative samples from tanks and barrels
• Participate in lab general housekeeping
• Communicate effectively with supervisor, cellar and other staff
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
• Perform laboratory calibrations, make and standardize lab solutions

JOB REQUIREMENTS:  

Essential Skills, Experience, and Education 

• Science degree or previous lab experience is preferred. 
• This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail. 
• Must be willing to work flexible hours including overtime and varying shifts.

Physical Requirements:   

• Required to stand long periods of time
• Occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, sit, walk, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl
• Able to lift and move up to 50 pounds of weight

WAGE TRANSPARENCY: 

The base pay for this role ranges from $19.50 - $24.50 per hour. Compensation will be determined by candidate experience, skills, and location.
