Supervisor of Special Education
Position Summary: This is a supervisory level position responsible for oversight of Special Education Programs by geographic area and/or exceptionality.

Required Qualifications:
- Valid Pennsylvania Supervisor of Special Education certificate or K-12 Principal Certificate
- Five years' experience with special education students
- Thorough understanding of all state and federal requirements for special education
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with School Wide Positive Behavior Support
- Speech and Language background with PA certification
- Experience with low incidence population
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Supervise and evaluate assigned teaching and paraprofessional staff.
- Participate in the interviewing of prospective employees and provide recommendations for employment.
- Oversee the procedural compliance of all pupil placements (from point of referral to IEP development / implementation) and to transition to adult life.
- Oversee class lists for child count accuracy.
- Present at workshops and meetings and serve on committees, upon request.
- Participate in meetings to develop IU/district goals and budget contracts.
- Oversee the requisitioning of materials for new and existing programs.
- Evaluate annually the facilities utilized.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director of Special Education.
